WWE NXT: 10 Best Non-Indy Wrestlers

8. Adam Rose

The character might suck, but Adam Rose the man was a valuable asset to NXT.

Carrying over from WWE's former developmental territory FCW, Rose started off on NXT as a short lived South African Royalty character named Leo Kruger. From there he evolved into an unhinged big game hunter who got over as a sadistic heel.

Capable of putting on decent long matches and totally losing himself in his character, Kruger seemed high up on the list of potential promotions to the main roster.

By 2014, the character had apparently grown stale (though I count myself among the many who want it back) and Kruger was repackaged as flamboyant party animal Adam Rose. Making his entrance to the most infuriatingly catchy theme song of all time, with his entourage of Rosebuds, fans couldn't help but cheer for the character.

It was suddenly Party Time - All the Time at Full Sail University.

Of course when he arrived on the main roster fans quickly grew tired of his antics and turned on the character. Most recently Rose returned to NXT threatening to "take a big hot steaming poop" on the NXT Universe. This will likely set his career back two years.

Nonetheless, had WWE bothered to give Rose some actual character development, scrapped his feud with the Bunny, or given him something interesting to do, he probably would have hit it out of the park. The man has proven that he can play a range of characters, have great matches with a variety of opponents and get himself over.

For that alone, Leo Kruger/Adam Rose is an NXT success story.

As a wrestling fan I've flown across the Atlantic for the last five years specifically to attend WrestleMania (28 and 30) as well as TNA, ROH, Evolve, Chikara and most recently PWG. I may have a problem! But if you're reading my work then you probably love wrestling too, so lets focus on that!
