NXT UK and makeshift pairings fail to plug gaps in NXT's depleted doubles division...

NXT has revealed the full brackets for this year's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, and results are as mixed as many predicted.

The involvement of NXT UK tag teams will at least help the brand build some stories for Royal Rumble weekend's Worlds Collide supershow, but in reality has highlighted that the doubles division remains the weakest area of the otherwise exceptional black-and-gold brand.

As above, the matches are as follows:

- Imperium (Marcel Barthel & Fabian Aichner) vs. The Forgotten Sons (Wesley Blake & Steve Cutler)

- Matt Riddle & Pete Dunne vs. Mark Andrews & Flash Morgan Webster

- The Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson & James Drake) vs. Kushida and a mystery partner

- NXT Tag Team Champions The Undisputed Era (Kyle O'Reilly & Bobby Fish) vs. NXT UK Tag Team Champions Gallus (Mark Coffey & Wolfgang)

There is no current schedule for the quarter finals, but with Worlds Collide on January 25th or TakeOver: Portland on February 16th as likely destinations for the final, it's assumed the tournament could kick off as early as next week when NXT returns to USA Network live for the first time in 2020.
