All of the rumors about John Cena returning to immediately reclaim the United States Championship from Rusev turned out to be false. Not only was Cena otherwise occupied, but Rusev was in action against Zack Ryder. After "The Bulgarian Brute" scored a quick win, he got face to face with Titus O'Neal, who'll likely be challenging him for the title at Money in the Bank.

Apart from another loss for Ryder, the match was notable for Long Island Iced Z's new gear. He was wearing green and purple trunks, boots, and wristguards, clearly designed to evoke the colors of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (and Donatello in particular). Ryder is a child of the '80s, and he's previously used the Ghostbusters for inspiration in creating other outfits for the ring.

The TMNT gear also represented an opportunity at cross-promotion. Not only is the upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows film a sponsor for WWE's product, but it also features Sheamus as rhinoceros flunky Rocksteady. It was a nice bit of synergy that, hopefully, was paid for by WWE and not Ryder himself.
