WWE Road to Wrestlemania 29: CM Punk Destroys The Undertaker, Kane's Paul Bearer Tribute
Brock Lesnar vs Triple H
No Triple H this week on Raw but instead we were treated to a call from Brock Lesnar. There are still very few things as intimidating as the sound of Brock's music kicking in, something that was shown perfectly by Cody Rhodes on Raw. Rhodes and Damien Sandow have apparently now reunited - thank goodness someone remedied the baffling mistake of ever splitting those two up - and were taking on The New Age Outlaws. The NAO were of course part of DX and close friends of Triple H, and so Brock took his chance to head down to the ring with Paul Heyman and make a point. After an F5 each to Billy Gunn and Road Dogg, Heyman accepted Triple H's challenge for a match at Wrestlemania on Brock's behalf. As predicted there was a condition though, that Triple H would have to accept a stipulation of their choice without knowing what it was beforehand. They were always going to need this extra dimension to the match after their first outing, so expect a cell or such like to be involved, or perhaps a last man standing stipulation. There are rumours that it will be a MMA style fight, supposedly to suit Brock, but with Triple H then beating him, putting the WWE over MMA essentially. If that is to happen, it seems unnecessary to me, more an idea of Vince's to have a dig at the likes of UFC than anything that will actually help this match. A stipulation should at least up the intensity another notch, which is the main thing these two have in abundance. Paul Heyman's promo work was as always perfectly on point, and his jibes about Brock hurting those close to Triple H were delivered with just the right amount of melodrama. Paul Heyman is vital to making this feud more engaging, for it needs someone with his abilities to make it more personal, more engaging, and more believable. He pushes all the right buttons, and now that it seems CM Punk will handle The Undertaker on his own, expect Heyman to play a big part in the build-up between The Game and Brock. Prediction: Strong work from Brock and Heyman this week, but the good money is still on Triple H taking the win and evening the scores.
