WWE Royal Rumble 2000: 6 Observations From Triple H Vs Cactus Jack

2. Brutality

It€™s no secret the WWE product of today has been cleaned up immensely, hence, the whirlwind of the €˜PG era€™. Little by little though, we€™re starting to see flashbacks of the toughness that made a wrestling program more entertaining to watch. Such as, Roman Reign€™s beatdown of Triple H at the conclusion of TLC. That was awfully refreshing for so many reasons. Triple H and Cactus Jack€™s street fight featured multiple chair shots to the head, blading, handcuffed beatings, barbed wire, bumps on the floor, wounds from a wooden pallet, and thumbtacks. Many, many, thumbtacks. Some of these things will never, or very sparingly, come back. The gore of this street fight is painful yet refreshing to watch. The Game took a beating, but managed to escape the victor. The brutality he took in the match was a reminder of one of the many ways he earned his stripes in the industry and further reasoning for where he is today. The brutality in this match literally lasted until Earl Hebner€™s final pin count, in which the consummate professional didn€™t shy away from counting three onto a sea of thumbtacks.
Wrestling is fake, anyone?
