6. Jinder Mahal

He didn't declare himself on this week's go-home SmackDown, but it's surely only a matter of time before Jinder Mahal throws his name into the hat. Aside from those competing for the WWE Championship, 'The Maharaja' is his brand's most notable exclusion, and after a tedious five-month reign as SD's top champion, there's little chance he won't be involved.

Jinder winning would once again transform his brand's main event scene into a hellscape. Tedious, soul-destroying, and characterised by WrestleCrap-worthy pay-per-view bouts, his reign was a colossal failure, but a Rumble victory can't be ruled out entirely. It's unlikely, but it could still happen.

Having both Singh Brothers fit and healthy would've been a huge boon to Mahal on the 28th, as both could interfere without fear of punishment. Samir's ACL injury diminishes this advantage, but Jinder will likely call on Sunil's help regardless, as this has been his modus operandi since last summer's unlikely push.
