Randy Orton’s first Rumble win came in 2009, when he entered at No. 8 and outlasted every man to earn his title match at WrestleMania. To this day, he is the only man to win it all from this spot.

He made his way to the ring as Triple H was dominating, and the two rivals began trading right hands, attempting finishers before being broken up by John Morrison. Wrestling for just under 50 minutes, Randy Orton eliminated three superstars, the first of which came less than five minutes before the end of the match.

After eliminating Kane with the help of Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase, Orton capitalised on The Big Show and The Undertaker fighting on the apron, hitting the former with an RKO sending him out of the running.

The final four was whittled down to the last man standing in a matter of seconds. Triple H fought off a three on one situation, eliminating Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes, only to be immediately dumped out of the match by his former protégé. Once Triple H’s feet hit the ground, Orton brought his Legacy team-mates back into the ring to celebrate with him, knowing he would not have won the match without them.
