WWE Royal Rumble: Best Performances From Every Entry Slot
23. Randy Orton - 2017
In last year's Royal Rumble, Randy Orton became the first man ever to win after entering at No. 23. This is not counting Lex Luger in 1994, who was declared co-winner with Bret Hart after both men eliminated each other simultaneously.
When it came down to the final three, Roman Reigns was outnumbered by Bray Wyatt and Orton (then a member of the Wyatt Family). After taking a beating, Reigns turned the tables on his opponents, countering a Sister Abigail from Wyatt and throwing him over the top rope.
With this momentum it seemed a certainty that Reigns would win his second Royal Rumble in three years. Yet the tables turned again when Randy Orton turned Reigns' Spear into an RKO. Seconds later, the match was over and Orton was crowned the winner.
Incredibly, this was Orton's first and only elimination throughout the entire 2017 Royal Rumble, putting The Viper in a tie for least eliminations by a Rumble winner, with Vince McMahon in 1999. Despite this, he is still the only man to claim victory from this spot.
