As soon as Nikki Bella had managed to defeat Natalya on SmackDown, Carmella emerged and hit Nikki with her own Bella Buster finishing move. Due to this, some other aspects of the match between Bella and the Canadian were glossed over. For example, by virtue of winning Nikki earned the right to captain SmackDown's female squad against Raw at Survivor Series.

Also notable, Bella actually won the bout by using John Cena's STF submission hold. The announce team of Mauro Ranallo, JBL and David Otunga did mention Cena, albeit only briefly before moving on to the situation involving Carmella.

Bella didn't lock on the STF for long before Natalya frantically tapped the mat and agreed to give it up. Therefore, it may have been difficult for everyone to spot just how smooth the move itself looked. Nikki's application of the STF looked a whole lot better than Cena's, meaning Bella performs the move in slicker fashion than her boyfriend.

Sometimes, Cena doesn't really manage to hook the leg of his opponent cleanly. Nikki did, also pulling back on Natalya's chin in the process.
