It's true that David Otunga is the 'baby' of the SmackDown announce crew. Learning on the job as he sits beside both Mauro Ranallo and JBL, Otunga can sometimes come across like he's reading from a script when delivering his lines. On occasion though, it becomes clear that he's growing into the role.

On the latest SmackDown, Otunga posed a very interesting question that seemed to (unfortunately) fall on deaf ears. As Heath Slater and Rhyno geared up to take on The Spirit Squad, the announcer asked his co-workers whether or not the SmackDown Tag-Team Champs were putting their Survivor Series spots in danger by accepting the challenge.

Earlier during The Hype Bros vs. The Ascension encounter, Ranallo had revealed that Heath and Rhyno had been automatically entered into the SmackDown vs. Raw Survivor Series elimination match by virtue of being reigning champions.

This means that Otunga's point was a valid one. Sadly, only Dolph Ziggler (providing guest commentary along with The Miz on the opposite side of the table) acknowledged it. Even then, Ziggler only said that it was up to Daniel Bryan to make that call.
