WWE SmackDown Live!: 10 Things You Might Have Missed (Oct 10)

6. Hammer Legends

Luke Harper Erick Rowan
WWE

The repackaging of Erick Rowan and Luke Harper as the...sigh...Bludgeon Brothers would have once been the stupidest character introduction all year. Luckily, thanks to their former 'family' member and great leader Bray Wyatt, it's not even the stupidest one this week.

Sister Abigail's arrival on Monday Night Raw sent the already-low bar careering through the floor, freeing up Harper and Rowan to really throw themselves into this last-gasp effort from the creative team.

If the episode's opening segment only taught us one thing, it's that tag teams are bewilderingly a priority all of a sudden on the blue brand, so the maligned giants might as well try and hammer their way into the conversation.

Ah yes, the whopping great implements of destruction both men wielded as they foretold gravelly-voiced doom for any and all on the blue brand. The weapons looked as threatening as the mild-mannered prop designer that probably papier-mâchéd them, but the choice of implement was notable.

On Raw this week, Elias was gifted The Undertaker's fabled ropewalk as a new move, allowing 'The Deadman' to actually help a midcarder for the first time since about 2004. Are Luke and Erick benefitting from some long-overdue charity from Triple H himself? In WWE, with great hammer, comes great responsibility.
