WWE Spoiler - SmackDown's Battle Royal Winner Revealed?
A shot at Kevin Owens' US title is up for grabs on Independence Day.
Kevin Owens will find out the identity of his Battleground opponent this week when SmackDown Live hosts battle royal to crown the new number one contender for the United States Championship.
The special Independence Day edition of SmackDown - which emanates from Phoenix - is expected to see AJ Styles earn another shot at the belt Owens has been carrying around (with some aplomb) since he defeated his former best friend, Chris Jericho, back in May, according to PWInsider.
The Phenomenal One originally squared off with the self-appointed "Face of America" at Backlash, but the rivalry was left unresolved after the contest ended in a count-out, with AJ - who competed against Owens in the following month's Money in the Bank ladder match - desperate for a rematch.
Whilst the rest of the battle royal hopefuls are as yet unconfirmed, it seems safe to pencil in AJ-KO for the Blue brand's next PPV outing - particularly with the Randy Orton-Jinder Mahal feud set to continue for at least another month.
However predictable its outcome though, a hotly-contested battle royal, whose winner will get the opportunity to fight a heat-magnet champion, will do little harm to the cause of the United States title division, which is beginning to win back some credibility after being lost in the shuffle for much of last year
