WWE Sting Into The Light Review: 10 Insights You Need To Know
8. Importance Of Sting's Family Life
One thing that shines through in this documentary is the importance of Sting's family life. You see him visiting his parents, as well as attending his brother's masses. His new wife is also extensively featured. You can tell these people mean the world to him, particularly when growing up. You can understand how he turned out such a good man, his parents are nice down to earth people. It was his Father who encouraged him into sports, which ultimately gave him the foundation for pro wrestling. "He was and is a very good athlete," his father says. Indeed, Sting credits his early sporting endeavours with his success in pro wrestling. "Basketball helped me in the ring," he states when talking about his jumping and movement when wrestling. He was also involved in football and baseball, before getting the bug for bodybuilding. He entered competitions and even owned a Gold's Gym, which eventually got him spotted for pro wrestling. What's cool is that Arnold Schwarzenegger was a hero of Sting's in those days, and at the end of the DVD, he gets to meet Arnie at WrestleMania 31. It is a bit of a "coming full circle" type of a moment.
