8. The Intercontinental Title Needs More Attention

The WWE Intercontiental Championship was defended in a Triple Threat match that saw the defending champion Ryback claim victory, despite a series of very believable near-falls. While this match was interesting, Ryback's victory highlights a problem that still persists with the Intercontinental Championship: the belt isn't given enough major attention on the main shows.

So much attention is put on literally every single other championship that the IC title appears to be presented as 'that belt that everyone who doesn't have a long-term storyline gets to fight for'. This is a sad state of affairs for the belt that was once held by the likes of 'Macho Man' Randy Savage, 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, Chris Jericho, and so many other legends.

A persistent problem in WWE shows is that sometimes, matches are presented in such a way that they limit the degree to which fans invest into them. Look at this match for example: Ryback was going in to the match as champion, yet no one seemed concerned about his chances of losing. Furthermore, no one really saw the Miz as a serious threat, and more people were interested in seeing if Big Show would turn again than if he could actually win the belt.

If this belt is to ever become as prestigious as it once was, there needs to be more effort put in to presenting it as a worthwhile championship to pursue and acquire.
