WWE SummerSlam 2017: 10 Shocks That Could Happen

3. WWE Segue Into A Jinder Mahal vs. Baron Corbin Feud

Baron Corbin Jinder Mahal

We can almost hear hardcore wrestling fans crying should Jinder Mahal beat Shinsuke Nakamura then be attacked by a vengeful Baron Corbin. It's not an impossibility that SmackDown's writers will feel Mahal vs. Corbin is a natural feud over the WWE Title post-SummerSlam, especially considering Baron's failed cash in.

Corbin would logically seek revenge on the man who shattered his Money In The Bank dreams, and that means ambushing Mahal. It wouldn't be a shock to see Corbin attempt to interfere during the match though. No, it'd be much more impactful an attack if he waited until after to dish out the damage and set the scene for coming weeks.

This would cause Nakamura to fall out of the title picture prematurely, which (let's be honest about it) few would be happy about. Could WWE really get away with booking Nakamura to fall at the first hurdle then drift back down to the mid card in favour of a Mahal vs. Corbin rivalry? Stranger things have happened.
