WWE Super Show-Down: 8 Things We Learned
3. The Shield Isn't Splitting Up Anytime Soon
Before Super Show-Down, there were teases and rumours regarding a possible split between The Shield due to a potential heel turn from Dean Ambrose. Well, the event dealt with those rumours head on and provided us with a number of entertaining teases of its own.
Having Roman Reigns accidentally hit Ambrose brought the potential conflict to the forefront, while the 'Big Dog's later actions (saving Ambrose from Strowman) put it away for good (for now). Furthermore, the 'Lunatic Fringe's reaction to Roman's sacrifice said more than words ever could and the trio's collective victory celebration was done in a rather touching way to highlight that, despite the rumours, Ambrose is still a loyal member of The Shield.
Reigns will now likely turn his attention to Brock Lesnar and Braun Strowman for his title defence at WWE Crown Jewel, while Seth Rollins will get a new challenger for his Intercontinental Championship. This may leave Ambrose free to explore his own storylines without having to turn heel just yet.
They may not be teaming together every week in the coming future, but Super Show-Down proved that the rumours of The Shield's demise were greatly exaggerated.
