WWE Super ShowDown 2019: 5 Overlooked Positives In The Undertaker/Goldberg Match

1. Undertaker Wrestled A Decent Match

Given both his age and his less-than-stellar performances as of late, The Undertaker is likely going to receive quite a bit of flack for the controversial match with Goldberg. While, in theory, that makes sense, the fact of the matter is that he actually performed rather well, given the circumstances.

It could be due to his impressive new physique or perhaps he was pushing himself harder than before but, whatever the reason, he moved around the ring really well in those first five minutes, and he effortlessly walked along that top rope to deliver the best darn Old School he has given us in at least half a decade.

Furthermore, contrary to popular belief, 'Taker wasn't responsible for any of the major botches that took place. Granted, it does look like he messed up the Tombstone by dropping Goldberg on his head but, if you watch it back, you'll see that the WCW star actually released his grip around 'Taker's waist before he was driven into the mat, resulting in his head bouncing off the canvas.

Look, 'Taker's best in-ring days are long behind him, there's simply no disputing that, but the truth is that he performed above his current standard here and, when all went south, he made the absolute right call to abruptly end the contest. Though the match will go down in infamy for all the wrong reasons, 'The Phenom' shouldn't take the fall when he delivered a surprisingly decent performance.
