WWE: The Rise And Fall Of The World Heavyweight Championship

The Lack Of Heavy Hitters

Wrestlemania 24 vs Edge As I said before, the WHC gave the rising talent of the WWE a chance to mix it with the established superstars that was rarely seen with the WWE Title. This also meant that superstars such as the Undertaker, Batista, Edge, Chris Jericho and Randy Orton all had runs with the title before allowing the WWE creative team to have a go with someone new, like a CM Punk or a Jack Swagger. The problem is, that most of these stars have moved on in their careers so the idea of lending the belt gravitas by having an Undertaker hold it for a couple of months is no longer feasible. Instead they have to rely on talent that, while very capable, is not talent that they trust to close off shows. So is there a solution to this WHC malaise?
