WWE TLC 2013: 8 Reasons It Failed To Live Up To The Hype

5. Bad Filler

brodus clay There is a need for filler in wrestling events. The live audience needs a chance to come down from the highs of one match in order to store up some appreciation for a later bout. Sometimes a bit of underwhelming filler is a good thing ... a bad match makes you appreciate a good match. At TLC it was just too bad and too boring to endure. It hurt the show. This was hyped as a special night, but fans had to endure the toil of Brodus Clay vs R Truth and Miz vs Kingston back to back. The two matches sucked the life out of TLC. What had been hyped as a monumental night suddenly turned into a tedious night. The whole perception of the evening changed. What had been a decent to good undercard was quickly forgotten. It was a welcome relief when WWE got back to its advertised main events, but the damage was done. What was even more frustrating about the filler was that Miz vs Kofi was announced as a no disqualification match - yet both men failed to use one weapon. It sucked and the crowd let them know with loud "boring" chants.
