WWE TLC 2019: 10 Things That Must Happen
10. WWE Resist The Kickoff Boredom
Kickoff shows have become less tolerable than those 'Free For All' hype pieces were in the 90s. Somehow, seeing Todd Pettengill run through the card and recap recent events on TV before a bonus match was preferable to the lifeless panel segments, wonderfully-produced-but-totally-samey video packages and handful of throwaway matches fans get now.
How the hell did Pettengill become preferable to anything?!
Seriously though, Kickoff = dull. There's absolutely no need for a pedestrian pay-per-view like TLC to have 60 minutes of hype before it starts. If it does, it'll seem like a joke at the fanbase's expense; WWE had weeks to build up the show, but they've crammed it all into the final one. If they then grant TLC another hour of preview channel fluff, it'll only annoy people.
They should avoid putting The Viking Raiders' open challenge on the Kickoff, and they shouldn't plaster a few supplementary matches onto the card either. TLC doesn't need any of this.
