WWE And TNA: 7 Worst Moments Of The Week

2. Joe vs. Lashley: Just Because

The TNA that we know and love€.er, tolerate, but mainly mock, is dying a slow death right in front of our eyes. They still have a few months left on Spike TV, so they should make the most of it. Now throughout the history of wrestling, nothing seems to create more interest in a product than a big match between two individuals that people want to see go at it. Not hairless poodles, not two women arguing about who crashed who€™s car, and not pleading with fans to pay $10 to see more of their product. It€™s big matches. Instead of going on as business as usual in TNA (because that hasn€™t worked in 12 years), perhaps they should consider building up a huge match to create some interest. Somehow they fail at this every year when Bound for Glory comes around. We€™re a month away from that show, and we still have no idea who is going to be in the main event. Imagine WWE doing pulling a similar act for WrestleMania. Well, maybe TNA could have gone with Samoa Joe vs. Bobby Lashley. To the surprise of everyone, TNA has actually done a pretty solid job of pushing Lashley. Joe, on the other hand, is a TNA original who is still over despite years of bad booking. He could have been built up as the one guy who could possibly stop Lashley. Instead, they just threw the two out there on Impact without any build. Because of short-sighted booking like that, it€™s no wonder that TNA is throwing them off their network. At least they gave them a few months of build.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
