A number of NXT trainees are said to be afraid to return to WWE's renovated Performance Center, according to a report in Fightful Select.

Although the facility has recently been upgraded and actions have been put in place to make it secure in the context of the pandemic, there is still apprehension amongst talent, said to stem from the cabal of 'COVID truthers' on NXT's roster.

It's rumoured there are multiple so-called 'truthers' on the books, who are downplaying the risks of COVID or dismissing it entirely as a conspiracy.

Obviously, attempts to make the site secure are only effective with maximum co-operation, hence the anxiety amongst staff who recognise the true enormity of the ongoing crisis.

At the start of the outbreak, officials told NXT trainees there would be no repercussions if they choose not to return to the Performance Centre because of safety concerns, but that they might have "to explain to Vince" their reasoning. Fightful reports that as thus, no talent has been demanded an explanation for staying away.

Last week, WWE welcomed a fresh batch of trainees. All were pictured on WWE.com reporting at the refurbed PC.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
