WWE UK Championship: 10 Things We Want To See

1. Remain Interested In It After The Tournament

The Cruiserweight Classic in the summer of 2016 was a big success. It created a world of well written characters with gripping motivations and stories to match. But the cruiserweights' transition to the main roster has been a disappointment. This isn't really their fault either; WWE just assumed that they had already done all the hard work during the Cruiserweight Classic and that this would simply carry over to the main roster. It didn't.

However, if the UK wrestlers are used after the tournament, this mistake cannot be repeated with the UK Championship. Of course, as with the cruiserweights, those who enjoy this style of wrestling will take interest regardless, but there is no point in preaching to the choir; regular fans need to be made to care as well, at least a little bit.

Even if they are to primarily be based in the UK in conjunction with a WWE Network show, effort needs to be put in to make sure that their stories and motivations are well showcased. The WWE can't get lazy and just assume that viewers did, or will go back and, watch the tournament.

Once the tournament is all wrapped up, the WWE need to remain interested in the UK Championship and the associated wrestlers, and they need to continue promoting them and convincing audiences that it is something worth their time and attention. If WWE management appear to lose interest in UK wrestling, the viewers will probably stop caring as well.
