Even when Patterson left the WWF for a while due to sexual misconduct allegations in 1992, Vince kept him in the loop and later brought him back to work. Such is the strength of the relationship that Patterson even managed to survive a heated spat with Triple H on creative issues in 2004. The reason for the enduring thirty year plus WWE run has to be down to Patterson's close relationship with Vince. It even ended up becoming an Attitude Era storyline, Patterson becoming a 'stooge' for Vince and a walked over suck up. Is that a true representation? Not really, the real reason for Vince and Pat's closeness is probably the huge creative contribution Pat gave to Vince. Concepts such as the Royal Rumble were given to Vince from Paterson ... just imagine how much money that one idea has made McMahon over the years. No wonder he loves Pat. Then of course there is the fact that Patterson was a great old school wrestler. Vince enjoyed his work and got on well with him. The two have been slapping each others back ever since.
