WWE Vs. AEW: Which Promotion Does It Better?

WINNER: WWE

Vince McMahon WWE
WWE

Cue an outcry of hysteria from hardcore AEW fans or WWE haters on social media. Cue hatred for the guy writing this. Cue Vince McMahon's smug smile.

His WWE takes home a 6-4 victory here. They're superior in terms of production, commentary (thanks largely to Mauro Ranallo), roster depth, overall star power, big-time pay-per-view and sheer volume of content. Meanwhile, AEW can crow about better freedom for wrestlers, respectful nostalgia, overall logic and match quality.

It was close, but McMahon gets the prize. There is hope for AEW however. If Tony Khan's company continues to progress at the rate it has in that first year, then it should be taken seriously as a genuine alternative to WWE, and it can definitely force McMahon to be more proactive.

The opening line perhaps said it best. "This article is not going to go down well with sections of the pro wrestling audience".

It probably hasn't.
