WWE WrestleMania 30: 7 Current Problems That Need Resolving

2. Randy Orton vs. Batista

Randy Orton Batista When Batista returned to WWE, fans likely did not know what to expect. The former World champion had not been seen on WWE programming since 2010 and in that time, the company had definitely changed from what it had been. Batista's mentor Triple H had transitioned into a corporate role, CM Punk had dropped his Monday Night Raw pipebomb and Daniel Bryan had become a red hot star. WWE fans began to question how Batista would fit in with the current WWE product and even how he would be accepted when he returned. But the fact is he did not fit in and was rejected almost immediately by fans that viewed him as an outdated performer whose time had come and gone. Today's WWE features a wide variety of Superstars and chief among them is the blue collar Daniel Bryan. To imagine a guy like Batista with his apparent smug sense of entitlement would come back and conquer WWE seemed impossible. And the fans agreed. But WWE evidently believed otherwise. Batista won the Royal Rumble and the opportunity to face Randy Orton at WrestleMania 30 for the WWE World Championship. And while he could not technically be blamed for the crowd's hate initially, the fact is that when he chose to mock Daniel after the Rumble, he sealed his own fate. Batista began looking down on fans, obviously very aware of their jeers when he came down the ramp. WWE finally gave in and turned The Animal heel, however it did nothing but confuse the title match at Mania even more. WWE fans cared even less about WrestleMania's main event, mostly because it would now presumably be contested between two heels. It's still difficult for many of the WWE faithful to believe this match is actually going to take place. It could go down as one of the worst, possibly the worst, headlining match in WrestleMania history. And unless something changes before April 6, that very well could be the case.
