WWE WrestleMania 33: Assessing The Potential Of All 14 Matches

8. Bayley Vs. Charlotte Vs. Sasha Banks Vs Nia Jax - RAW Women's Title Match

Many, with some justification, have rolled their eyes at WWE shoehorning the major players in the RAW Women's division into a Fatal 4-Way bout - but those matches are so commonplace because they are invariably good to very good in quality.

Yes, Charlotte's arc as pay-per-view queen bee has been wasted. Yes, Nia Jax has regressed as a performer since being promoted and has done little if anything to warrant inclusion. And yes, neither Bayley nor Sasha Banks are likeable faces. Bayley is the latest casualty of the RAW creative team's clumsy and one-note approach, and Banks is a natural heel.

All that said, the stipulation should create scope for some exciting sequences, centred, ironically, around Jax. A WrestleMania Moment-worthy display of power beckons, before she is sidelined from the action with the Spanish announce table shortcut. As much as that might make sense, and conceal Jax's limitations, the trope might be reserved for one of the more perceived important matches. In any event, the tension between Bayley and Banks should get explored to hoist this above the ordinary.

This could well be WrestleMania 33's equivalent of XXIV's WWE Title Triple Threat between Randy Orton, John Cena, and Triple H: an overplayed combination, bereft of anticipation, but a match which over-delivered on a flimsy premise.
