Some folks have acid reflux over the thought of Charlotte Flair ascending to the top of the women's division and sending a bright young star tumbling back down at 'Mania 41. Flair's rivalry with Tiffany Stratton has become notable for blending unwanted Royal Rumble triumphs with shoot-style comments that didn't exactly endear either to management behind the scenes.

Indeed, the way they went off-script on the 4 April edition of SmackDown raised some eyebrows, but only those internally will actually know what's real and what's a worked shoot. Let's just hope they don't turn into jabroni marks without a life that don't know it's a work when you work a work and work yourself into a shoot...brother.

Bonus points if anybody remembers that nonsensical old Hulk Hogan tweet.

Something is glaringly obvious, or it should be. Charlotte's time as somebody who runs roughshod over the division by being booked to win title after title like some sort of WWE default setting is over. It must be. Stratton is the focal point, because she's the future, and it'd be disastrous for Tiffany if she was written to fall at her first major WWE PLE hurdle just because Flair walked back into the picture.

On the flip side, Charlotte is still a big enough star that Stratton has everything to gain by beating her. There's no need to switch both top Women's Titles at 'Mania 41. Bianca Belair becoming the new Women's World Champ is enough. Fair has to eat some humble pie and stare at the lights for a rising starlet who's only really just getting accustomed to her role on top.
