WWE WrestleMania 41: 20 Things That Must Happen

7. Charlotte Flair Teases Retirement On The Mic

Woo-uldn't you just know it; Charlotte can't take the heat.

That'd be the story pinning down a post-match retirement tease. Grabbing the mic with tears in her eyes, Flair would thank absolutely nobody but herself for believing she was worthy of challenging at WrestleMania. Then, she'd claim the people don't deserve to see a star of her magnitude anyway. Y'know, lean into a super-heel role that doesn't get bogged down with 'love me, love me' rubbish.

Charlotte's been a little too guilty of that since coming back. She's been going through a lot in her personal life, to be fair, so Flair likely is feeling a bit fragile. Seeking adulation from wrestling fans was never going to work though. People have long since decided that they've seen enough of 'The Queen' and her elitist dominance. So, she should throw that back in their faces John Cena style.

There's next to no chance that Charlotte would get a Mark Henry moment out of this. The WWE fanbase won't be on board with treating Flair like some retiring great who needs to go away and find herself, so she'll need to go down a different road. The solution? Have her snap at the audience and blame them for the way everything went wrong in Vegas.

Advertise her for appearances/matches, then pull them at the eleventh hour - that sort of thing. This is where the old, "Card Subject To Change" trick comes in handy. Also, for the love of God won't somebody steal HBK's old: "Shawn Michaels has left the building" gimmick that ring announcers used to say when he was a heel midcarder in the 90s?

That'd be perfect for Charlotte.
