WWE WrestleMania 41: 20 Things That Must Happen
18. AJ Styles & Logan Paul Seek A Social Highlight
Celebrated veteran AJ Styles and celebrity talking point Logan Paul landed themselves in roughly the same boat as Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest. Basically, they were largely afterthoughts for this year's 'Mania lineup and were only shunted together because the writers didn't have anything else for them. However, very much unlike Drew and Priest, AJ and Paul haven't been given enough TV time to make people care about their one-on-one.
Meh, everyone knows this is merely a vehicle for Paul to get millions of impressions on social media and clip up a few highlights so WWE can flash their knickers to a casual audience who otherwise wouldn't watch every week. That's fine and dandy, but it means Styles and LP will have to come up with something that rivals spots like Logan's flashy selfie elbow drop or his mid-air collision with current AEW man Ricochet during a Royal Rumble.
They'll need to bang heads together, get thinking caps on and other assorted 'think hard, lads' cliches.
Of course, there's a chance Styles will talk Paul into using this as a proving ground for his actual pure wrestling skills. His haters despise it, but Logan has shown he's a natural in-ring since debuting. What if he's keen to dispense with the usual human highlight reel stuff and put on more of a grappling clinic instead?
Nah, surely that won't happen. Expect to see Paul hitting one of his table-breaking elbows or going stereo on Phenomenal Forearms so we get another mid-air smash that grabs eyeballs online.
