WWE WrestleMania 41: 7 Nightmares That Could Come True

1. Fans Turn On Cody Rhodes

What Could Happen: WWE poster boy and top babyface Cody Rhodes stands open-mouthed as Las Vegas showers him with boos amidst surprise chants of, "Let's Go Cena...Cody sucks!". It's like 'Mania X8 all over again. Back then, company hardcores turned on The Rock (who was the face during the build) in favour of cheering on old hero Hulk Hogan (despite his nWo colours).

Why It'd Be A Nightmare: The thought that Cody could be booed is outlandish, but not impossible. This wouldn't be the first time a massive pro wrestling crowd has rebelled against WWE's plans, put it that way, and there is still a lot of sentimental lovesickness for John Cena even though he turned heel at Chamber then bashed the fans for ignoring his 'Rise Above Hate' campaign previously.

Crowds are fully aware that time is running out on their chances of ever seeing Cena do his thing again, and that might well stir desperation in some. So, come WrestleMania 41, a full-timer like Cody (who will be seen every other week for years to come) could be on the receiving end of some teenage-style angst from a fanbase clinging onto the prior generation's top boy like their youth is slipping away.

The sucky thing here is that it'd be hard to spin this as a one off, and it could lead to copycat behaviour from audiences on Raw and SmackDown going forwards. The question is: Has WWE done enough to force people to hate on Cena, or will sentimentality cause hearts to rule over heads this Sunday?

Rhodes better hope the last bit doesn't come true.
