6. Oba Femi Pins Brock Lesnar Clean
This is vitally important.
Some folks out there reckon WWE should keep Brock Lesnar strong enough for a match vs. Gunther, but screw that. This is Brock f’n Lesnar we’re talking about. He can eat a pin and still march on for SummerSlam fun vs. The ‘Ring General’ if that's in the playbook. Brock defo doesn’t need to be winning this Sunday opener, that’s for sure.
Triple H should build Femi up as the future of his product, or as a big part of that future at least. Getting there is easy if he mows down Lesnar and Brock does what Hulk Hogan did for him back in 2002. It's really essential that Lesnar throws everything he has at Oba and it still isn't enough. People will come with him if WWE explores a loss of power, hunger or combination of both afterwards.
Brock has been a borderline cyborg for years in WWE circles, but he does know how to put others over and live to talk about it. Cody Rhodes beat Lesnar twice in 2023. Do fans still bring that up or use it as a means to box company creative around the ears? No, and nor should they. Every major star has to stare at the lights here or there, and Brock is smart enough to understand what's at stake here.
Hell, his match with Gunther will have more juice on it if he walks in wounded. Oba has to take the 'W' in strong fashion and use beating Lesnar as a milestone moment in his young career on WWE's main roster. He also has to win clean.
