WWE WrestleMania 42: 20 Things That NEED To Happen

Title changes galore, massive heel/babyface turns, and a 'Final Boss' showdown.

Triple H could pave an actual road to Las Vegas with all of the creative cobbles his company has awkwardly clambered over en route to WrestleMania 42. We're almost there now though. WWE has one more main roster TV show (Friday's SmackDown) to go before months of promotion, ticket stumbles, discounts etc culminate in the bumper weekender itself.

Main events like Cody Rhodes vs. Randy Orton and CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns will close things out on respective nights, and a celeb-infused 6-man then Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi will be tasked with opening Saturday and Sunday with a bang. The pressure is vast, not just for WWE's roster but also for a creative operation that'd probably serve up a lobotomy when you were in for a routine brain scan right now.

In other words, things haven't been running smoothly, and TKO management has openly embarrassed itself by having character heels like Pat McAfee trash one half of the weekend whilst chortling about lower than expected ticket sales on programming. It's been a bizarre approach, but let's face it: People will still be expecting WWE and Hunter to get things right across 18-19 April in Allegiant Stadium.

Here's absolutely everything that must happen. It's been said that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Top brass will be hoping that's the case if it's a wobbler of a PLE, but they'll be the first to shout from skyscraper rooftops if 'Mania 42 hits a home run.

Dig in, people. Dig in.

20. Saturday’s Opener Is All-Action

All-action/rapid/on the shorter side. Whichever way you slice it, The Usos and LA Knight vs. Logan Paul, Austin Theory and IShowSpeed is a curious pick to kick off the entire weekend in-ring. That had 'Saturday night's death spot fare' written all over it, but WWE fancy heaping the pressure on Speed early doors.

Fair enough. Let's see if he's as talented between the ropes as fellow YouTuber Paul!

Ideally, this match will only get around 10-15 minutes bell to bell. It'd also be cool if the thing was just stacked full of high spots involving IShowSpeed and Logan, or Paul and Knight. Meanwhile, Jimmy and Jey will be relied upon to make sure the whole shindig runs as smoothly as possible, but it doesn’t need to be super long.

An in and out WrestleMania debut for Speed would be for the best. Maybe Danhausen can make another cameo appearance to curse him and help the babyface squad to a crowd-popping win too. That'd be the logical play for this match, and it isn't like anyone's taking everything super serious heading into 'Mania anyway.

That's why it's so surprising that WWE picked the 6-man to open Saturday. It's a let-me-up match more than anything, but Triple H clearly has higher hopes for The Vision meeting The Bloodline (sort of) than that. Yep, let it run for anywhere between 10-15, then put Knight over so people stop (rightly) bitching and moaning about his status on the roster.

A viral moment involving Speed and LP sounds plausible as well.
