No pay-per-view in years has went off the air leaving WWE fans with a greater sense of optimism than the Royal Rumble. Not only had both contests been won by audience picks, but they set up a couple of WrestleMania dream matches giving saliva the edge over gravity. The long-anticipated introduction of Ronda Rousey was just the proverbial icing. It was going to be a good year. Or so we thought.
