On Raw Monday Night, the Jey Uso singles experiment seemingly came to a close.

At least, that’s what WWE wants you to believe.

The Usos came out after AJ Styles and Dragon Lee defended the World Tag Team Titles against the War Raiders, joining New Day in the ring for a three-team confrontation. Jimmy announced that the brothers were officially back in the tag division, giving the reason that they had been “taking the ‘L’ a lot lately,” pointing to WarGames and several of Jey’s singles losses.

Jey stated that the brothers needed to “get back to us, block the noise,” and get back to being the best tag team in the company. The segment proceeded as one might expect: the Usos were respectful to the champs, mouthed off to the New Day and dropped them when they protested.

It seems that Jey is running from his frustrations in the singles division, but this was an abrupt direction change one week after throwing a tantrum and then taking responsibility for his loss. There seemed to be a chapter missing from Jey’s story, skipping from “Jey is despondent and cracking” directly to “Jey is happily reunited with his brother and abandoning his singles career ambitions.”

Maybe that will play out in the weeks to come, but if someone said there was a missing week of Raw that fell into a black hole, Jey’s storyline would give plausibility to that notion.
