11 Ways WWE Are Giving Brock Lesnar Away Too Cheaply

11. $9.99 To See A Five Million Dollar Attraction

The first thing to point out is the selling point for Lesnar matches, just $9.99 a month. That's too cheap, but WWE are stuck with the price because they're so desperate to get Network subscriptions. This goes back to a wider problem with WWE giving away things too cheaply. Their initial Network launch price of $9.99 was severely misjudged. The Network could have got the same amount of sign ups at $12.99 or even $15.99 price points. Even $19.99 could have been an option to retail it at. If fans want to watch a special or consume the video library, $9.99 or $15.99 really isn't going to swing their decision. But now that they've established such a low price, with less numbers than expected subscribing, they're stuck with $9.99. The fact they also made such a big deal of marketing 9.99, it means they have to stay with it. What they should have done from the start is launch higher, then drop later if need be. When you consider the cost all those events would have been on pay per view, or the cost of buying the video library on DVD, WWE Network is an absolute bargain. But Lesnar wasn't signed as a bargain product. There's not much WWE can do here. Lesnar will continue to headline shows that cost the same as shows headlined by any other run of the mill superstar.
