10 Affordable Comic Books To Invest In Now (Before It's Too Late)

9. Uncanny X-Men #266 (1990)

Miles Morales Spider-Man
Marvel Comics

Why It's Noteworthy: 1st appearance of Gambit

FMV at 9.8: $400

Another first appearance book that's likely to see a rise in value over the next few years is Uncanny X-Men #266. This is the book that introduced the world to everyone's favorite Cajun mutant, Remy LeBeau, otherwise known as Gambit.

In terms of a character who has always been popular, you don't have to look much further than Gambit. He was a fan-favorite of X-Men the Animated Series, and readers have enjoyed his stories for years. For this reason, the book has never really been cheap, but you can expect it to rise in value in the near future.

While it's been in development hell for years and years, there will eventually be a Gambit movie or Gambit will make an appearance in the MCU. Now that Disney/Marvel Studios owns the rights to the character, something will be developed, and when a live-action Gambit grabs the attention of comic book fans and moviegoers, this book will become unaffordable quickly.

Right now, a 9.8 rated book will run you $400, but that's for a near-mint book. A lower grade of 9.0 will only cost around $120, which is far more affordable, and still an amazing grade for a book that's nearly 30 years old.
