7. Real Heroes #1 (Image)
Bryan Hitch, the artist of such titles as The Ultimates, The Authority, JLA, Fantastic Four and Age of Ultron, is taking a step outside his comfort zone by taking on writing duties for the first time in his creator-owned series, Real Heroes. The six-issue miniseries asks what the actors who portray the superhero team The Olympians on screen would be like if they were faced with a real supervillain and forced to become the characters they pretend to be in real life? Hitch's inspiration came from his love of lookalikes-pretending-to-be-the-real-thing stories like The Prisoner of Zenda, The Prince and the Pauper and the movie Galaxy Quest. Hitch points out that though he uses the analogy of "what if the cast of The Avengers had to act like real heroes in real life" what would Robert Downey Jr be like in a real alien invasion, given the same power suit? that none of the character designs look like real actors. With a great premise and Hitch's usual high quality art, Real Heroes from Image looks to be enormous fun!
