2. Wonder Woman Earth One by Grant Morrison and Yanick Paquette (DC)
DC are continuing to put out the series of Earth One original graphic novels after successfully releasing Superman Earth One Vols 1 and 2, and Batman Earth One, with Wonder Woman Earth One. Writer Grant Morrison will be joined by artist Yanick Paquette on the 120-page book subtitled The Trial of Diana Prince. The story follows Diana's first adventure as the Amazons bring her home and put her on trial for leaving the island and joining the "man's world" with Steve Trevor. Morrison has said that he's interested in exploring real world reactions to Wonder Woman through this comic, literally putting the character on trial and asking her modified questions along the lines of why she's not a popular character like other DC superheroes, and why she doesn't work as a franchise. The book will incorporate feminist theory and explore gender relations, with Morrison also rewriting Diana's origin so that she's not literally made out of clay an element he says which makes her remote and distant to the reader. Morrison has completed the script so the book's release date depends on artist Yanick Paquette's page rate, though as of August last year he'd completed 20 pages out of 120, so we'll likely have to wait until the latter half of the year before reading this.
