3. The New 52: Future's End by Jeff Lemire et al. (DC)
Alternatively known as Five Years Later, The New 52: Future's End was hinted at in an episode of DC All Access late last year with designs and sketches for the forthcoming weekly story (the second weekly from DC this year) displayed behind DC Co-Publisher, Dan DiDio. The series will take the New 52 five years into the future though little is known about the storyline itself. Writer Jeff Lemire has said that the series will explore the nature of what a hero is by playing with the New 52 timeline, colliding past, present and future within one storyline. A cover by artist Ryan Sook, who will be drawing all of the covers, hints at the characters expecting to appear: Frankenstein, Firestorm and, making his New 52 debut, Batman Beyond. Also shown is what looks to be Brother Eye so there might be OMACs aplenty included as well. Besides Lemire and Sook, the series will feature work from Keith Giffen, Brian Azzarello, Dan Jurgens (who will contribute both scripts and artwork), Ethan Van Sciver, Jesus Merino, and Aaron Lopresti. DC have said that they will be releasing Future's End #0 as part of their Free Comic Book offerings on the first weekend of May with the first issue appearing in late May.
