10 Awesome Alternate Versions Of Superman

5. Overman

DC Comics

Overman, created by Grant Morrison, features in the Multiversity comic book series which includes a variety of alternate versions of DC characters.

Reminiscent of the Superman origins in Superman: Red Son, this story is rooted in an alternate history where Kal-El’s ship crashes in predominantly German speaking Sudetenland rather than America.

This leads to the Nazis being able to utilise Kryptonian technology to steer them to victory in World War 2, and dominate the globe with their regime. Born into this Nazi dominated world, the young Kryptonian grows up to become a Nazi himself, and a member of The New Reichsmen; a Nazi version of the Justice League enforcing the dictates of their leader.

Overman is not quite the irredeemable monster his affiliation might suggest. In fact he is afflicted by a sense of remorse for what the Nazis have done, and ends up helping the resistance fighters who oppose them.
