10 Most Awesome Characters To Have Worn A Power Ring

1. Hal Jordan

Sinestro may be more intelligent and knowledgeable about power rings, but when it comes to the coolest of the ring wielders, no one beats Hal Jordan. As the first human Green Lantern, Jordan exemplifies the Green Lantern mantra of overcoming fear. Since losing his father at a young age, Jordan rose above the limitations imposed on him and refused to let fear control his life. Of course, not everyone is infallible. After Coast City was destroyed, Jordan was consumed with fear, which led to him becoming Parallax and destroying the Green Lantern Corps. After dying, becoming the Spectre and being resurrected, Jordan reclaimed his spot as the top Green Lantern, while slowly dealt with this guilt over his actions as Parallax. Recently, Hal became the new leader of the Green Lantern Corps after the Guardians were defeated. He€™s already angered a lot of people with his decisions, but he€™s slowly learning what it takes to be a great leader even though defying authority is deep in his blood. As a Green Lantern, Jordan is extremely confident, and typically follows his own moral code rather than the rules imposed by the Lanterns. He can be reckless and arrogant, but more often than not he knows how to handle a situation. Like many ring-slingers these days, Jordan has had a couple rounds with other colored rings, but he always returns to willpower in the end. Essentially, what makes Jordan great is that he never gives up, and no matter what the odds are, he€™ll inevitably rise up and beat them back. After saving the universe on multiple occasions (which happens way too often in the Green Lantern books), he€™s cemented himself in the history books as the greatest Green Lantern.
