10 Most Awesome Characters To Have Worn A Power Ring

2. Sinestro

Once considered the greatest Green Lantern, Thaal Sinestro certainly considers himself the greatest Lantern that€™s lived, regardless of colour. Fixated on maintaining order on his home planet Korugar, he instilled himself as dictator and ruled with an iron fist. Sinestro was eventually stripped of his ring and banished to the antimatter universe. Meeting the Qwardians, they fashioned him a yellow ring and sent him back to take his revenge, and he's been fighting Hal Jordan and the other Green Lanterns ever since. Sinestro€™s notoriety has increased since he created the Sinestro Corps and leading his soldiers on a mission of fear across the universe. While Sinestro was originally a stereotypical evildoer, what makes him such a compelling character in modern times is that he truly believes he's doing the right thing. In his mind, order can only exist by keeping the population fearful. He isn€™t just trying to scare people for the hell of it, he€™s instilling fear to keep them behaved. He€™ll do whatever it takes to get this done, whether it be killing his enemies or killing an underling who isn't following his orders directly. The pink skin and thin mustache may not look especially intimidating, but he is a true master of terror. Sinestro has had many iconic moments, from channeling the White Lantern power during Blackest Night to being the first individual to completely control Parallax. However, Sinestro will be primarily known as the Green Lantern Corps greatest enemy, and the ironic thing is that he truly believes in the mission that the emerald light wielders are working towards. He just has a different way of achieving that goal.
