10 Most Awesome Characters To Have Worn A Power Ring

7. Black Hand

William Hand had been obsessed with death ever since he was a child, and felt most at peace when among corpses. Eventually becoming the super villain Black Hand, he fought Green Lantern on many occasions using a device that could drain and manipulate the energy from Green Lantern€™s ring. However, it wasn€™t until Blackest Night that Hand truly became powerful. Committing suicide after slaughtering his family, he was brought back by a black power ring and became the first Black Lantern. Assisted by Guardian Scar, he ushered in the Blackest Night and led the reanimated corpses of the DC Universe on a mission to purge all life. As with most villains, Hand was eventually defeated. Brought back to life by the Entity of Life, he was captured by the Indigo Tribe and had a ring of compassion forced on him, but his membership didn€™t last long. Once he was freed by the indigo rings influence, he committed suicide and became a Black Lantern again. Since then he€™s had a few more run-ins with the Green Lanterns and even died once more, but you can€™t keep a death-obsessed psychopath down for long. Hand is hands-down the creepiest of the Lanterns. From his casual conversations about death to his pale, corpselike appearance... oh wait, he already is a corpse. The worst part is that even if you defeat him, it won€™t last long because chances are he€™ll come back to life. With an army of undead serving him and delighting in playing mind games with his enemies, Hand is dangerous to any member of any of the Corps, as well as any living being in the universe.
