10 Most Awesome Characters To Have Worn A Power Ring

6. Atrocitus

Atrocitus doesn€™t just rage against the machine; he IS the rage machine. One of only five survivors of the massacre of sector 666 at the hands of the Manhunters, he held anger in his heart towards the Guardians of the Universe. Joining with his fellow survivors, the Five Inversions attempted to kill the Guardians at one point, but were defeated and imprisoned on Ysmault. Millennia later, after the Sinestro Corps War ended, Atrocitus killed Quill, one of the Inversions, to create the first red ring and lantern. He soon killed the rest of the Inversions to build a central power battery and more rings around the universe to build his new Red Lantern Corps. Atrocitus sees his rage as a useful tool against fighting injustice, with most of the Red Lantern Corps victims being those who have personally wronged them. Though he €œsupposedly€ fights to protect the innocent, Atrocitus€™ main beef is with the Green Lantern Corps and Sinestro Corps. Atrocitus will occasionally put aside his differences with his enemies to fight greater threats, but his time is primarily spent dishing out vengeance against the guilty, no matter who the are. Even without the ring, Atrocitus is still a tactical genius, along with having super strength and invulnerability. Don€™t get on his bad side. These days, Atrocitus is locked in a power struggle with Guy Gardner, who threw away his green ring, joined up with the Reds and defeated Atrocitus to take over the Corps. Barely surviving, Atrocitus is now slowly gathering new troops to follow him into battle to take back the Red Lantern Corps. It won€™t be easy given that many of the Reds didn€™t like Atrocitus to begin with, but that won€™t stop the survivor of sector 666 from taking back what belongs to him. Either way, expect more rage unleashed and acidic blood splashed on your comic book pages.
