4. Revival

The central premise of 'Revival' may seem, on first glance, to lack in the originality department. After all, the conceit of a collection of small-town people inexplicably coming back to life has recently been the basis of both the French TV drama 'The Returned' and the American TV drama 'Resurrection'. Just because there are a few similar stories out there, however, does not lessen the impact and appeal of 'Revival'. Writer Tim Seeley (Grayson) and artist Mike Norton (Young Justice) have crafted a riveting series. It is effortlessly mysterious and creepily unnerving, featuring a cast of likeable characters and a pitch perfect rendition of small town America. It paints an unflinchingly realistic portrait, as our hero Officer Dana Cypress has to deal with media scrutiny, religious zealots and government quarantine.
