On any normal occasion, regardless of what hardcore Bat-fans might want to believe, the Dark Knight is hopelessly outmatched against Superman in physical combat. Superman knows this and, as such, he knows that if he was to ever go rogue (such as in the event of being mind-controlled), there is very little Batman could do to stop him - and that is why he gave the Dark Knight a Kryptonite ring that he took from Lex Luthor, which Batman now carries everywhere with him in his utility belt. In the Batman: Hush storyline, when Poison Ivy had travelled to Metropolis and taken control of Superman, Batman donned his Kryptonite ring and punched Superman to knock him out - albeit briefly - before the Man of Steel came round and joined forces with Batman to stop the villain.
