This occurred in Defenders #19 from 1975 when the titular team were going up against the Wrecking Crew. In a devastatingly short amount of time, after Wrecker had told the Crew to take the Defenders out, they did so quite emphatically. Piledriver punched out both Doctor Strange and Nighthawk, Bulldozer smashed into Luke Cages back and knocked him out, while Wrecker himself sucker-punched Hulk in the head with his crowbar and rendered him unconscious in a single unlikely hit. Wrecker and his team then ran off victoriously, stating that they had a bomb to find and a city to hold ransom. Hulk is considerably tougher than Wrecker and this annoyed Hulk's fan-base somewhat, but the fact is it happened and it raised Wrecker's stock up by quite a considerable amount.
