10 Awesome Ways To Celebrate Batman's 75th Anniversary
10. Batman: Eternal
The current ongoing weekly series Batman: Eternal was announced to directly coincide with the Dark Knight's 75th Anniversary. Spearheaded by Batman scribe Scott Snyder, the limited series features a team of writers including James Tynion IV, Ray Fawkes, Kyle Higgins and Tim Seeley. Eternal is scheduled to run for an entire year, predicted at around 60 issues, and so the high-output comic ties in nicely with the Batman and Detective Comics titles that unfold at a slower pace. Batman #28, released in mid-February, gave us our first glimpse into the Eternal world - Batman is seemingly operating with a new sidekick, Bluebird, while Selina Kyle has somehow become queen of the Gotham underworld. Eternal #1, released last month, wound that timeline back a little bit - several new (and old) faces pop up in Gotham around the time Commissioner James Gordon is framed for a horrific accident. There have only been five issues to date, making this the perfect time to pick up Eternal. With a strong team of writers and artists working at a breakneck pace under the careful guidance of Scott Snyder, this celebration of the Bat could turn out to be something special.
