10 Awful Comic Book Characters That Don't Deserve A Movie Adaptation

1. Bat-Mite

Batmite

One of the most annoying comic book characters of all time lands at the top of our list. Bat-Mite debuted in 1959 and went on to be one of Batman's most enduring side characters. This elf-like creature comes from the fifth dimension where advanced technology gives him almost infinite powers. What does Bat-Mite do with his God-like abilities? He mostly spends his time stalking Batman like a hepped up Motley Crue groupie. Bat-Mite primarily serves to provide grating comic relief by continually bungling his attempts to help Batman out. In each of Bat-Mite's various incarnations over the years, there's one thing that remains constant: he's un-funny as taking a soccer kick to the groin. Despite being adapted into television on multiple occasions, big screen stardom continues to elude the character. There is a good reason for this; once audiences catch a glimpse of what looks like a lump stuffed into a Batman costume floating around Batman's head, they'll be running full steam for the exits. Bat-Mite doesn't seem like an obvious choice for DC to bring to the big screen because of how goofy he is. However, comic book icon Grant Morrison recently gave Bat-Mite a gritty update. In Morrison's take on the character, Bat-Mite is a figment of Bruce Wayne's imagination that Wayne created to help him cope with the trauma of witnessing his parents' murder. Given the gritty tone of Man of Steel, this version of Bat-Mite could fit in well with the upcoming Justice League movie. So in other words, DC has its own Jar Jar Binks warming the bench and it might be only a matter of time before he takes the field. There's our list. Any we missed? Have we been unfair to some of these characters? Let us know in the comments below.
